Trey Anastasio Band’s fall tour kicked off last night at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL. The guitarist and his band rolled through a first set that opened with a take on “First Tube” before a rare “Burn That Bridge” from Anastasio’s Hands on a Hardbody production. The song was performed by Phish once and was last played by TAB in 2011.

Other notable performances throughout the show include a take on The Band’s “It Makes No Difference,” the first since 2011. The song is an appropriate choice as The Band played their iconic Last Waltz concert on Thanksgiving weekend. TAB once again delivered a take on Ana Tijoux’s “1977” featuring Natalie Cressman on the Spanish vocals.

Set two started off with a newer track “Sometime After Sunset” but trended more towards older material with peformances of “Alive Again,” “Greyhound Rising,” “Shine,” “Wherever You Find It,” “Simple Twist Up Dave” and more. Jennifer Hartswick once again took lead vocals on Gorillaz’s “Clint Eastwood” before the “Push on Til the Day” set closer. “Gotta Jibboo” and “At The Gazebo” closed the show.

During the end of the show, Anastasio introduced his bandmates to the tune of the “Looney Tunes” theme song. Next up for TAB is a show tonight at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA.
