During their recent show at Mercury Lounge in New York City, Max Creek welcomed out legendary Jamaican percussionist Larry McDonald during the second set. McDonald, who has performed with the likes of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and more, formed a three-headed drumming attack with Bill Carbone and Jamemurrell Stanley for takes on The Neville Brothers’ “Yellow Moon” as well as Creek originals “Wild Side,” “It Must b Nice” and “Windows.”

The ensemble also improvised a “Franksgiving” jam featuring poet and Boardwalk Empire actor Frank Messina. Max Creek’s tour continued on Saturday night in Hartford, CT where the band performed their first acoustic set in two years followed by two electric sets.
