George Porter Jr. has confirmed a few new shows in his hometown of New Orleans during next year’s Jazz Fest. The bassist has revealed that he will be joining the Voice of the Wetlands All Stars for a performance on the festival’s main Acura Stage on Friday, May 1 before heading to Tipitina’s for late night show with the Funky Meters that night. He will also be playing a show a DBA with the Runnin’ Pardners on Saturday, May 2, which will be following by another gig at the festival proper on Sunday, May 3. Porter has also confirmed that he will be playing at Shaggy Fest on Wednesday, April 29.

The new dates are in addition to Porter’s previously confirmed Jazz Fest shows, which includes two nights at the Joy Theater with The Meter Men featuring Page McConnell on April 24 and 25.
