Yesterday at Brooklyn Bowl, Phil Lesh led a special Rock and Roll Playhouse Children’s Workshop entitled “Grateful Rockers.” Joining Lesh for a short acoustic set was Devlin Goldberg, Anna Ayers, Lenny Goldberg and The London Souls’ Tash Neal.

The ensemble started with a pair of Grateful Dead tunes including “Shakedown Street” and “Ripple” before moving into a few covers including “Iko Iko,” George Jones’ “The Race is On” (both of which have been covered by the Dead on several occasions) and “Stop That Train” before delivering “Monkey and the Engineer” and the closing “I Am the Light of This World.”

Proceeds from the show were donated to the children’s music charity Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. For more information about the Rock and Roll Playhouse and all of the upcoming workshops, visit their website.
