Gov’t Mule’s New Year’s show took on an AC/DC theme as the band teamed up with singer Myles Kennedy to deliver a full set of tunes from the iconic stadium rockers at the Beacon Theater in New York. To start, however, Mule played a set of their own material as they mixed in cuts like “Banks of the Deep End,” “Fool’s Moon,” “Railroad Boy,” “Lay Your Burden Down” and more.

With the stage backdrop depicting “Mule” written out in the iconic AC/DC font, the ensemble, with Kennedy in tow, kicked off the set with “Highway to Hell.” Throughout the 18-song AC/DC performance, including the encore, the group covered the spectrum of the hit-laden band as they mixed in classics like “Let There Be Rock,” “Rock & Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution,” “T.N.T.,” “Back in Black,” “Hells Bells,” “You Shook Me All Night Long” and many more. All 18 songs were debuts for Gov’t Mule.

The show concluded with a one-song encore of “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll).” Gov’t Mule returns to the road on January 2 with a show at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA where they will be supported by Cabinet collaborating with Warren Haynes Band sax player Ron Holloway.
