Galactic, Dumpstaphunk and the Soul Rebels will team up for a benefit show for former Galactic singer Theryl “Houseman” DeClouet. The gig will take place on Friday, January 16 at One Eyed Jacks in the bands’ hometown of New Orleans. Tickets for the show are now on sale.

As previously reported, DeClouet has been living in Chicago since Hurricane Katrina took everything the New Orleans native owned in 2005. The upcoming benefit show will raise money for his efforts to re-settle in his hometown.

DeClouet was the featured vocalist on Galactic’s first five albums (including Coolin’ Off and Crazyhorse Mongoose). The collaboration was an extension of a friendship started back in 1990, when Robert Mercurio and Jeff Raines met DeClouet at the legendary (and now defunct) Benny’s Bar. Houseman officially left Galactic in 2004.
