Robert Plant has some nice words for the Grateful Dead. In a new interview, the former Led Zeppelin frontman tells USA Today that he wants people to see his shows for the same reasons that Deadheads latched on to their favorite band, saying:

There were Deadheads, and it was a good place to be… [The Grateful Dead] didn’t compromise. They weren’t technicolor rock gods. They had such a huge following because they were coming from a place that, even though it was from an altered state, it was definitely real. …That is what I want.

Plant, who was featured on the cover of the December 2014 issue of Relix, recently released his new album, Lullaby and… the Ceaseless Roar. He is currently scheduled to play a few festival dates in Latin America this March before heading to BottleRock Napa, and possibly a few more festivals in the United States, this summer.
