Ryan Montbleau joined Mike Dillon for his residency at Gasa Gasa in New Orleans on Wednesday night. The band—which also featured John Kimock (drums), Marc Friedman (bass) and Matt Hubbard (keys, trombone)—was joined by a few special guests throughout the night. Singer/cellist Monica McIntyre was the first to make an appearance when she sat in for “How Many Times?,” “Kingston Town,” “Our Own Place” and “Stay.” McIntyre then stuck around as Galactic bassist Robert Mercurio took the stage for “Ain’t Nobody’s Business” before keyboardist John “Papa” Gros joined the fray on “Pacing Like a Prince.” McIntyre and Gros then helped Dillon and co. close out the night with “Dead Set” and “I Can’t Wait.”

Mike Dillon will return to Gasa Gasa next Wednesday, January 28, for a show with drummer Johnny Vidacovich and others.
