Dr. Dog will open for Dispatch when the band performs at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 10. The show will mark the first night of the two-night “Dispatch Hunger” benefit concert series, which will also see John Butler Trio open for the group on July 11.

“Dispatch Hunger” was originally scheduled for one night, though the July 10 show was added due to overwhelming demand. The concerts, which are aimed at raising awareness about domestic hunger, will be Dispatch’s only North American performances of 2015.

In related news, Dr. Dog recently wrapped up their 4×4 residency at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg. The band was joined by a few special guests during the Bowery portion of the run, including famed avant-garde guitarist Marc Ribot, who sat in on “Easy Beat,” “Too Weak” and a cover of Sam the Sham & The Pharoah’s “Wooly Bully” on January 16. Bassist/singer Toby Leaman also hosted a surprise Q&A session following the group’s January 14 show.
