The return of Gorillaz is nigh. Artist Jamie Hewlett, who helmed the popular “virtual” band with Damon Albarn, confirmed the group’s comeback via his Instagram account yesterday.
Responding to a fan’s question, Hewlett simply stated, “Yes Gorillaz Returns”. The inquiry came after the artist posted images of cartoon Gorillaz members Murdoc and Noodle.
Gorillaz have been on hiatus since 2012, while their last album The Fall dropped in 2011. However, tecent updates to the band’s Facebook page and Hewlett’s new confirmation appear to indicate that a new record is coming in 2015.
