It appears as if the Red Hot Chili Peppers are in the studio with Brian Burton, aka Danger Mouse. As Consequence of Sound points out, a since-deleted tweet from bassist Flea confirmed that Burton is indeed the “unnamed producer” the band is working with on their follow up to 2011’s I’m With You.

Danger Mouse recently worked with The Black Keys on their rise to success, taking the helm on 2010’s Brothers, El Camino and their latest Turn Blue. Along with producing Portugal. The Man’s Evil Friends and U2’s Songs of Innocence, he also released a new album with James Mercer of The Shins as a part of their Broken Bells project.

This album marks the first release from the Chili Peppers without Rick Rubin since 1991s Blood Sugar Sex Magik According to the band, the record is due out sometime in 2015.
