Voodoo Dead have added a third gig to their Jazz Fest schedule. The group—Bill Kreutzmann, Steve Kimock, Keller Williams, Dave School and Jeff Chimenti—will now play a show at The Repbulic in New Orleans on the night of Friday, May 1 (technically the morning of May 2), in addition to their previously confirmed shows on May 2 and 3. Unlike the other two nights, the May 1 show will not feature guest appearances by George Porter Jr. or Papa Mali.

The Voodoo Dead run will take place almost exactly 50 years after the Grateful Dead’s first performance on May 5, 1965. Tickets for the May 1 gig are now available for Nolafunk email subscribers, and general public on-sale will begin this Friday, February 6 at 12pm EST/11am CST. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as the first two shows sold out immediately.
