My Morning Jacket closed out their One Big Holiday destination festival with a stellar finale that featured plenty of covers and special guest appearances.

The night got started with a few MMJ originals before Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith joined them for the Basement Tapes track “Nothing To It.” Next up was Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell, who sat in for “Wonderful (The Way I Feel).” Conor Oberst then joined the group for acoustic renditions his own Bright Eyes tune “At The Bottom of Everything” and “I Will Be There When You Die,” which were followed by the debut of a brand new MMJ song titled “Only Memories.”

New Orleans’ legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band took the stage about halfway through the show to add another layer to the sprawling MMJ sound. The group—whose 2013 album That’s It was co-produced by Jim James—made their contribution for “Holdin’ On to Black Metal,” “Highly Suspicious,” “Dancefloors” and a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Happy” before MMJ wrapped up the set with “Mahgeetah.”

Jim James and co. returned to the stage for the first encore, which opened with renditions of The Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane” and “Rock & Roll.” Things took a turn for the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off when the Pres Hall guys came back out for Wayne Newton’s “Danke Schoen” and The Top Notes’ “Twist and Shout.” All of the night’s guests then joined in for Bob Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35.” The artists left the stage after the tune, but MMJ and Pres Hall returned to wrap up the festivities with an appropriate “One Big Holiday.”

As previously reported, One Big Holiday marked My Morning Jacket’s first performances in over a year. The band has not scheduled any headlining tour dates as of now, but they are currently slated to perform at this year’s Hangout, Boston Calling, Governor’s Ball and Bonnaroo music festivals.
