Patti Smith and Sturgill Simpson have joined the lineup for the annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert. Brooklyn Vegan reports that the newly added artists will join a lineup that already features The Flaming Lips, Laurie Anderson, Tenzin Choegyal, Ashley MacIssac and artistic director Philip Glass at New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall on March 5. Chuck Close, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Uma Thurman and Arden Wohl will also serve as the evening’s Honorary Chairpersons.

Proceeds from the concert benefit the Tibet House U.S.—a nonprofit education center that is dedicated to preserving Tibetan civilization. The organization was founded in 1987 at the request of the Dalai Lama. Tickets are now on sale, and more artists will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.
