Bob Weir will sit in with John Oates when he performs at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA this Sunday, February 8. The Hall & Oates guitarist and songwriter, who is currently on the road in support of his new solo album Good Road to Follow, revealed the news today via his Twitter account.

John Oates connection with the Grateful Dead and the wider jam scene goes back many years. The guitarist and his old musical partner Daryl Hall joined the Dead for a Greenpeace and Rainforest Action Network benefit show at Madison Square Garden on September 24, 1988, where they sat in on “Every Time You Go Away,” “What’s Going On,” “Good Lovin’” and “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” Oates has also taken the stage with Umphrey’s McGee and moe. in the past as well..
