Earlier this year, Rich Robinson revealed that The Black Crowes would be calling quits for good after 25 years. The founding guitarist pinned the breakup on his brother Chris, saying that the singer and current Chris Robinson Brotherhood frontman was demanding a new contract that he and drummer Steve Gorman could not agree to. Chris later stated that he wanted to keep personal matters private, but that The CRB was now the focus of his artistic endeavors.

Robinson elaborated on the situation today during an interview with HuffPost Live’s Ricky Camilleri. When asked about the future of The Black Crowes, Robinson said definitely that, ““The Black Crowes have broken up. They don’t want the Black Crowes to be, it’s not gonna be. I would have preferred to just left it be. [Rich Robinson and I] never really had much of a relationship … You write some songs and that record sells 6 million copies and then you keep going … You know, like I said, joy is what I’m after.”

When asked if The Black Crowes brought him joy, Robinson added, “No, not really.” (Video of the exchange can be found above.)

At another point in the interview, Robinson discussed the importance of psychedelic substances. (Video below.)
