Bob Weir sat down with CNBC’s Steve Liesman to talk all things Fare Thee Well. As Jambase points out, the guitarist dished on a variety of topics including managing expectations, the overwhelming response and what fans can expect. On the response, Weir said, “I’ve heard that it’s been pretty monstrous. I guess it’s gratifying but at the same time—we better be good.”

Liesman also asked Weir about the controversy surrounding the selection of Trey Anastasio on guitar. “We’re doing the best we can,” Weir said. “After kicking around who’s gonna work best, it’s really pretty evident to anybody who doesn’t have a real serious axe to grind who we should be dancing with here,” he responded. “Maybe we’ll make it to the 75th reunion and maybe your guy will make it that time,” Weir added.

Also on any bittersweet feelings returning to the site of the Grateful Dead’s last show with Jerry Garcia, Weir said, “We’ll see when we get there.”
