The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art will hold its annual FreshGrass festival on September 18-20. The event, which takes place in the sprawling factory campus of MASS MoCA, is a celebration of all things bluegrass, including multiple stages for performances, various workshops for musicians, songwriters and instrument-makers, pop-up performances in the museum’s galleries and surprise jams that include both festival artists and crowd musicians alike.

Headlining the event are the Punch Brothers, who were featured on the cover of Relix Magazine‘s January_February issue. Joining them will be Leftover Salmon, Jerry Douglas presents Earls of Leicester, banjoist Alison Brown and more.

Brown will also serve as one of the judges for FreshGrass’s musician contests, which include band, duo, banjo and fiddle categories. The 2015 lineup also includes 2014 award winners Twisted Pine and Quiles & Cloud.

More artists are to be announced later this year. Consult the initial lineup below. 3-day passes are now available, along with camping information, via the festival’s website.
