The Associated Press is reporting that a jury has found Pharrell Williams, Robin Thicke and Clifford Harris (aka T.I.) guilty of copying Marvin Gaye with their 2013 hit “Blurred Lines.” As a result of the suit, the Gaye estate has been awarded $7.3 million.

As previously reported, Pharrell, Thicke and T.I. pre-emptively sued the Gaye family in 2013 in order to determine if “Blurred Lines” infringed on the copyright of Marvin Gaye’s 1977 classic “Got To Give It Up.” The Gaye family then counter-sued, claiming that Pharrell & Thicke had copied the tune.
