Widespread Panic debuted a new song as they kicked off their spring tour with a gig at the Morrison Center in Boise, ID last night. The band dropped the new tune—titled “Street Dogs For Breakfast”—at the beginning of the encore, which also featured a “Blackout Blues.“Keyboardist JoJo Hermann penned the new song and has been workshopping it during solo and side-project gigs since at least 2010.

It should also be noted that drummer Todd Nance, who announced a temporary hiatus from the band last fall, was not behind the kit during yesterday’s show, though Hard Working American drummer Duane Trucks continued to fill in for him.

Widespread Panic will continue their spring tour tonight when they take the stage at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox in Spokane, WA.
