Sleater-Kinney and Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein will release her memoir Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl on October 27. The book reportedly focuses on the guitarist’s life in Sleater-Kinney and wraps up shortly after their initial hiatus.

Per Penguin Books, “This book intimately captures what it feels like to be a young woman in a rock-and-roll band, from her days at the dawn of the underground feminist punk-rock movement that would define music and pop culture in the 1990s through today.”

Currently, Brownstein and Sleater-Kinney are on tour in support of their latest No Cities to Love.
