Soulive closed out their sixth annual Bowlive with their eighth show last night featuring special guests Marco Benevento, Tedeschi Trucks Band’s own Maurice Brown and Weedie Braimah, who all sat in throughout the show.

Benevento joined in on the first set closer in “Up Right” and would play the rest of the show with the band for what would be the jammiest show of the run. The second set opened up with a familiar take on the instrumental “Soulful Strut” with Benevento, Brown and Braimah along with The Shady Horns before launching into Benevento’s own “Limbs of a Pine.” The Marco track would be followed by another, as the jam segued into “At the Show.” The ensemble closed the set with “The In Crowd.”

While the band performed Led Zeppelin’s “The Ocean” with Jennifer Hartswick earlier in the run, they decided to encore with an instrumental version of the tune featuring Benevento and The Shady Horns. Prior to the encore, Soulive was presented with gifts honoring their 61st show at the Brooklyn Bowl.
