This April, the Australian Chamber Orchestra will offer up the U.S. debut of Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood’s Water during a nine-city tour beginning April 10 in Palo Alto, CA. The tour wraps up with a stop at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Water was written especially for the ACO by Greenwood during the guitarist’s residency with the orchestra in 2013. “This world of classical music is for me, all about the room and the concert and every performance being different and everything being unrepeatable,” Greenwood said via a press release.

“Whereas with Radiohead, it’s about arranging and recording the songs as well as we can, and every time you hear them back it’s going to be the same. I only knew them (the ACO) by reputation, by reading reviews of their concerts in London, and so many people were describing them as the best chamber orchestra in the world. And then it fell that the Radiohead tour finished in Australia and by happy coincidence they asked me to write something for them.”
