Back in 2014, singer Jade Castrinos left Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros before the band hit the road for their summer tour. “For seven years I sang and wrote music with Edward Sharpe. They voted me off tour week before they left via email,” she wrote the separation.

After a series of back and forths in the days that followed, the band has once again stated that Jade quit the band, she wasn’t kicked out.

“You should know Jade quit,” a post on the band’s Facebook page stated. “We didn’t kick her out. We asked her to take off one tour. So she quit and told you she was booted.”

The post continued, “By all accounts Jade is doing really well and we wish her the best. It was such a sad thing for us but such is life.”

Currently, the band is off the road but will return to the stage on May 2 at Sunfest in West Palm Beach, FL.
