Stevie Wonder dropped by local jazz club Sweet Lorraine’s during his night off in New Orleans on Wednesday. NOLA.com reports that the soul legend, who performed at the city’s Smoothie King Center the previous night, spent a few hours at the club, where members of his touring band played with an assortment of New Orleans musicians.

According to NOLA.com, Wonder entered the club just as members of his band were jamming out the classic Wonder-penned Rufus track “Tell Me Something Good” with harmonica player Frderic Yonnet, percussionist Bill Summers, saxophonist Khris Royal, bassist Chris Severin, trumpeter Eric Bloom and more. Other musicians took the stage throughout the night, including Deacon John, who delivered a rendition of Jimmy Cliff’s “Many Rivers to Cross.”

Wonder never took the stage during his time at Sweet Lorraine’s, though he did treat the crowd to a harmonica solo from his seat before briefly singing a silly song about ettouffee and a crawfish shop. The tune was apparently a reprise of a goofy verse that Wonder improvised at the Smoothie King Center with R&B singer India.Arie the previous night (check out the video above).

Stevie Wonder will continue his current tour, which celebrates his classic album Song In The Key Of Life, tomorrow night with a show at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY.
