Founding Particle Bassist Eric Gould has confirmed his latest tribute project. Building on the success of his band Pink Talking Phish, which weaves together elements of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads and Phish, his new project will nod to three equally tangentially connected bands: The Velvet Underground, the Disco Biscuits and The String Cheese Incident.

Velvet Cheese Biscuits—who made their live debut at the Capitol Theatre’s new space Constanten’s—plan to tour heavily this summer, offering a mix of festival dates, after shows and halftime gigs (where they will perform in the parking lot during the setbreak of large-scale concerts by the Dead, Phish and Widespread Panic).

Concert promoters Live For Live Music will present Velvet Cheese Biscuits’ inaugural run. In related news, Lettuce have also issued a statement that they will tour as Live For Live Music this spring as part of a new 360-branding deal. Marquee guitarist Eric Krasno will perform with the band he helped found on select Thursdays and days when alternate side parking has been suspended.
