A creative Phish fan took to Reddit to share their own rendition of the customary Jewish song “Daiyenu.” The tune, which is primarily sung during Passover Seders (the ceremonial feasts held during the holiday), has been a Jewish tradition for many centuries. Seeing as tonight marks the first day of Passover, we figured it would be fun to share this Phishy take on “Daiyenu.”

Redditor strwberryfeelsforevr’s post reads:

Despite some fans’ occasional grumbling, the fact remains that Phish is a tremendously generous band. They tour extensively, play almost 3 hours of music every time they step on stage, and make every effort to constantly impress their admittedly overcritical base. With that in mind and in the spirit of this Passover season, I offer the following song of gratitude.

**Note to the gentiles (and Jews that don’t speak Hebrew): “Daiyenu” means “It would have been enough for us,” or “It would have been sufficient for us.”

If they had reunited after Coventry but not remained together, DAIYENU.

If they had remained together but not given us Festival 8, DAIYENU.

If they had given us Festival 8 but not continued touring, DAIYENU.

If they had continued touring but not performed Guyutica and the Led Zeppelin show, DAIYENU.

If they had performed Guyutica and the Led Zeppelin show but not given us The Holy Ghost, DAIYENU.

If they had given us The Holy Ghost but not held Superball IX, DAIYENU.

If they had held Superball IX but not started the Dicks tradition, DAIYENU.

If they had started the Dicks tradition but not played the Fuck Your Face show, DAIYENU.

If they had Fucked Our Faces but not given us the Dicks Light, DAIYENU.

If they had given us the Dicks Light but not the Tahoe Tweezer, DAIYENU.

If they had given us the Tahoe Tweezer but not Wingsuit/Fuego, DAIYENU.

If they had given us Wingsuit/Fuego but not the JEMP Truck Set, DAIYENU.

If they had given us the JEMP Truck Set but not the Randall’s Chalk Dust, DAIYENU.

If they had given us the Randall’s Chalk Dust but not the MPP Tweezerfest, DAIYENU.

If they had given us the MPP Tweezerfest but not The Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House, DAIYENU.

If they had given us The Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House but not New Years in Miami, DAIYENU.

If they had given us New Years in Miami but not toured at all in 2015, DAIYENU.

If they had announced a 2015 tour but not Magnaball, DAIYENU.

For all these acts and more, we say to Phish together: DAIYENU!

A happy Pascal season to all and I hope your lotto requests were not Passed Over!

It’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time someone has put a Phish spin on a traditional Jewish song:
