Great American Taxi has announced a new album that will be released later this year, along with a short list of preliminary tour dates. The Colorado-based Americana band that was started in 2005 by Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman has seen a few lineup changes over the years, with the current incarnation of the band including founding member Chad Staehly with Jim Lewin and Brian Adams.

For the new album, which was recorded with Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone at Silo Sound Studios in Denver, the Taxi guys are joined by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Arthur Lee Land and drummer Duane Trucks from Hard Working Americans. Trucks will also be on tour with the band for some dates, with Nate Barnes of Rose Hill Drive filling in for the rest of the dates. The tour will start out in the band’s home state before heading up to Alaska for a couple festival slots, with more dates to be announced.
