Bill Kreutzmann teamed up with Steve Kimock, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Dave Schools and Jeff Chimenti for his first “A Night of Voodoo” show at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma, CA last night. The performance got started with covers of Bob Dylan’s “It Takes A Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry,” Junior Parker’s “Mystery Train,” Ernest Ranglin’s “Congo Man Chant,” Bob Marley’s “Get Up, Stand Up” and Harry Belafonte’s “Man Smart (Woman Smarter)” before the first set closed out with a “Scarlet Begonias” that segued into “Fire on the Mountain.”

The second got going with a take on The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” that was sandwiched between JJ Cale’s “After Midnight.” “Bertha” was then followed by a rendition of “Morning Dew” that included vocals from special guest Jerry Joseph. The show then wrapped up with “Deal” and an “Aiko Aiko” encore.

Kreutzmann and his Night of Voodoo will return to Petaluma’s Mystic Theatre tonight for the second show of their run.
