Widespread Panic and the jamband scene got a shout out on yesterday’s episode of the popular game show Jeopardy. One of the clues during the broadcast read, “Term for long-soloing bands like Widespread Panic whose cult of fans are often literally followers.” If you thought the answer was “jamband” (a term that was popularized by Relix/Jambands.com co-Editor-in-Chief Dean Budnick), then you are correct.

Widespread Panic are the latest jamband to see their see their name in a Jeopardy clue. Recent episodes of the show have featured references to Umphrey’s McGee and moe., while “Phish” was the correct response to a clue during an episode last year.
