Earphunk have debuted a new track titled “Omega,” which is set to appear on their upcoming EP. The New Orleans prog-funk quintet recorded the track and filmed its video at The Parlor Recording Studio in their hometown.

Speaking about the new tune, Earphunk drummer Michael Matthews tells Jambands.com:

I’m really happy with the outcome of this new track Omega. I love the cohesiveness of all the instruments, along with the different moods that arise throughout the different song sections. Omega really keeps the listener’s attention the whole time. It’s funny how this song came about to begin with. We had just got back to the hotel late after a show one night around 3am and Paul had hopped in the shower. I was about to pass out and I heard Paul start getting dressed. He said, “I’m going to the Sprinter to grab my guitar. This melody popped in my head in the shower and I need to lay it down on my computer tonight before I forget it.” He proceeded to stay up recording some parts and we were able to sit down with it in a rehearsal spot in Nashville a few days later to work out the kinks.

Earphunk have a number of hometown shows coming, including a set at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, as well as a variety of after shows around the festival. They will then hit the road for a series of dates throughout the summer.
