Widespread Panic kicked off a two-night run at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC last night as their spring tour rolls on. The band took some time to pay homage to The Stooges frontman Iggy Pop, who turned 68 yesterday, during the second set. Out of the “Drums & Bass” segment, bassist Dave Schools rapped a bit of Pop’s “TV Eye” as a tribute to the frontman’s birthday.

Also worth noting is the second set opener of “A of D,” which hadn’t been played since last July in Las Vegas and marked the first time drummer Duane Trucks had performed the tune.

Panic returns to the Warner Theatre tonight.
