Umphrey’s McGee kicked off a three-night run at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN as their spring tour comes to a close. Last night, they brought out longtime local jamband The Big Wu guitarist Jason Fladager for a cover of Toto’s “Africa.”

Before the performance, the band had some kind words for Fladager, crediting him as someone who helped the group break through in Minneapolis early in their career.

Additional highlights from last night include an extended “Spires,” which featured a “Jimmy Stewart” with lyrics. The rarely played “Water” also had an extended improv section in the middle prior to the Fladager sit in and ultimate “Wizard Burial Ground” closer.

Umphrey’s returns to First Avenue tonight. The show will be webcast via TourGigs.
