Founded by musician Todd Clouser in partnership with longtime Mexico City resident Hernan Hect, the label is “born from the desire, and necessity, to connect artists in Mexico and southward to better serve and encourage the creation and economic viability of true independent art and thought.”

Much like its Philadelphia-based counterpart Ropeadope Records, Ropeadope Sur will exist to provide an independent platform for artists to bring their music to a wider audience and create a sustainable music community.
