Last night at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC, Billy Kreutzmann hosted a special Dear Jerry Pre-Party. The performance featured his Billy & The Kids project who will appear at tonight’s Dear Jerry show. Kreutzmann’s group, which also includes Aron Magner, Tom Hamilton and Reed Mathis, delivered an opening set as a quartet. They then expanded during the second set, with moe. guitarist Al Schnier appearing during the “Cumberland Blues” opener and remaining on stage for the remainder of the set. In addition, Schnier’s bandmate Vinnie Amico appeared on percussion for most of the remaining songs, while Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic, Hard Working Americans) sat behind a second drum kit.
