After bassist Stefan Lessard tweeted (it has since been deleted), “get over it, we love The Lovely Ladies,” in response to fan backlash about the backup singers, Dave Matthews Band proved just how much they love the three voices as they debuted a new song last night in Raleigh with the help of The Ladies.

Entitled “Be Yourself,” the tune appeared during the second set with The Ladies on backing vocals, beginning a five-song run with The Ladies including “Save Me,” “Rooftop,” “Stay” and “Granny.” Watch the new song above.

As he has during previous stops in North Carolina, Branford Marsalis sat in with the band, joining Jeff Coffin and Rashawn Ross in the horn section. Marsalis added a unique dynamic to a trio of old songs including “Lover Lay Down,” “Typical Situation” and “Jimi Thing.”

Next up for DMB is a show tonight in Bristow, VA.
