On July 8-10 at The Drawing Center in SoHo, New York, Billy Martin will host a three-night “Wandering” series as a part of the center’s Drawing Sound instillation, which aims to explore the intersections of sound and visual art.

Each performance will feature soloists interpreting one of Martin’s “graphic scores” before they perform together as an ensemble. The first night will have solos from Martin and John Medeski, among other multi-instrumentalists. Percussionist Cyro Baptista will join Martin for the second night of the series, while the third night’s musical performances will be supplemented with “reflections on the wandering mind, improvisation, and chance,” according to The Drawing Center’s website.

A “scentstallation” which incorporates smell into the performance will also be ongoing throughout the three-day series.
