In a new interview with Marquee Mag, Widespread Panic frontman John Bell revealed some additional info about the forthcoming album, which serves as the follow up to 2010’s Dirty Side Down. Bell confirms that the album is due out in September and that most of the new songs performed by the band throughout the beginning of this year will be included.

“We’ve done so many records and tried so many angles of approach that this time, we just said: ‘We want to play the songs, so we’ll just start playing,’” Bell said.

On the new songs’ reception, Bell said, “I’ve heard good things, and that’s nice to hear,” Bell said. “But basically, we do it for ourselves and hope that leaks over to everybody else’s intrigue and enjoyment.”

Widespread Panic’s tour continues June 16 in Lewiston, NY.
