In a video interview with NME, Dave Grohl explained the story behind the letter he sent as a 14-year old to Minor Threat’s Ian Mackaye. The origins of the letter stem from Grohl wanting to get his demo tape released, so he reached out to Mackaye and Dischord Records about putting him in touch with some people who could put it out. At the end of the interview Grohl jokes, “If the Foos could do a Dischord single, then we could break up. Done deal.”
