Grace Potter took the stage with the Rolling Stones last night at the TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The singer came out toward the end of the set for “Gimme Shelter,” a tune that she has covered on a number of occasions with her old backing band The Nocturnals. Last night’s show also feature an appearance by the VocalEssence choir, who took up choral duties on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Yesterday was a big one for Potter. Not only did the singer open for the Rolling Stones and join them on stage, she also announced the release date for her first proper solo album, as well as a number of solo tour dates. The forthcoming record, titled Midnight, is set for release on August 14.

Potter will open for the Rolling Stones in Arlington, TX this Saturday, June 6, and she will perform at the Mountain Jam Festival in Hunter, NY this Friday, June 5.
