The Motet keyboardist Joey Porter performed with Kung Fu during their LOHI Music Festival after show at Cervantes in Denver this past Friday. Porter took up the keys for the entirety of the second set after new Kung Fu keyboardist Beau Sasser dipped out to catch a flight to the Disc Jam Music Festival, where he was scheduled to play with Beau Sasser’s Escape Plan.

Peter joined the group for their own “Scrab,” as well as a number of covers, including Parliament Funkadelic’s “Sexy Ways,” Jimi Hendrix Experience’s “Crosstown Traffic,” Herbie Hancock’s “Stepping In It,” The JB’s “Hot Pants Road,” Billy Cobham’s “Stratus,” Stevie Wonder’s “Haven’t Done Nothing,” Herbie Hanock’s “Palm Grease” and Parliament Funkadelic’s “Good To your Earhole.”

As previously reported, Kung Fu recently parted ways with founding keyboardist Todd Stoops, who was replaced Sasser.
