Jackie Greene will tour extensively through September in support of his seventh studio album, Back to Birth, due out August 21 via Yep Roc. The 32-date run includes stops in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, New York and a slew of other major markets.

Currently, Greene is in the middle of a run of shows at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads, which continues tonight. He will also spend the Fourth of July in Evanston, IL at SPACE along with scheduled appearances at The Ride, Grand Targhee, Floydfest and Gathering of the Vibes Festival.

Back to Birth was produced by Los Lobos member Steve Berlin and was recorded at Portland’s Supernatural Sound. On the album, Greene said, “A lot of these songs are looking at the notion of a cyclical existence, and the sense that life goes in a circle. I want the songs to come from a place that’s meaningful to me, but I also want to keep them as simple and direct as I can. I look at old blues songs, or Hank Williams songs, and they’re so simple and direct but they convey some pretty deep ideas.”

Pre-orders for the album are currently ongoing.
