More than eight hours of previously unpublished Jerry Garcia interviews conducted by Dennis McNally will be compiled into Jerry on Jerry, due out in November. The book will feature Garcia’s thoughts on religion, politics, his personal life and his creative process. Dennis McNally, former Grateful Dead publicist and the band’s authorized biographer, edited the book and it was also curated with the cooperation of the Garcia Family estate.

According to the announcement, Jerry speaks openly about everything from growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and his first encounters with early R&B to his thoughts on songwriting, LSD, the Beats and Neal Cassady, government, movies, and much more. Garcia’s daughter Trixie will also provide the foreword.

The book will be available in hardcover, eBook and a special audio edition featuring the original audio recordings from the interviews.

Stay tuned to Garcia’s website for pre-order information.
