Bassnectar reunited with his old friend Michael Kang of the String Cheese Incident during his Saturday night headlining set at the Electric Forest Festival. Kang took up the violin for a trippy, low-key portion of the producer’s set, which took place just an hour after SCI treated fans to a spectacular performance that was augmented by remote controlled miniature blimps, an aerial acrobat hanging from a hot air balloon, fireworks, pyrotechnics, confetti and so much more.

Bassnectar and Kang’s collaboration should come as no surprise, as the two have have been friends for well over a decade. Last year Bassnectar told Relix that Kang is partially responsible for launching his illustrious career, and the two even teamed up for a track called “Dubuasca” back in 2004.
