Prince has pulled his music catalog from all online streaming services. The move comes just one day after the Purple One released a new song titled “HARDROCKLOVER” on his official Soundcloud page.

A statement on Prince’s Spotify page reads:

Prince’s publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalog. We have cooperated with the request, and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible.

Prince is currently in middle of his “Hit N’ Run” tour, which has seen him announce last minute shows at seemingly random venues across North America. He’s also confirmed some new material in recent weeks, including the aforementioned “HARDROCKLOVER” and “Baltimore,” a track that addresses the unrest the swept that city after Freddie Gray died in police custody.

UPDATE:

Forbes is reporting that Prince has pulled his music from all streaming services except for TIDAL. While he has not commented on the move, it is probably worth noting that TIDAL spends a larger percentage of its money on artist royalties than Apple Music or Spotify.
