Dave Matthews Band closed out their two-night run at Saratoga Springs, NY’s Performing Arts Center with a special nod to the Grateful Dead with a performance of “Friend of the Devil” in the acoustic set along with special guest Bela Fleck.

The tune was met with a roar from the crowd and featured an upbeat jam in the middle led by Fleck. Watch a fan-shot video of the performance above.

While DMB hasn’t performed “Friend of the Devil” ever, the group has nodded to the Dead in previous years, most notably a stirring take on “Eyes of the World” following the death of Jerry Garcia.

Other tunes of note from DMB’s SPAC closer included a rare solo version of “#40,” played by Matthews during a trio of opening solo tunes. The band also dug into their cover repertoire for the Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House.” Fleck once again joined the group throughout the show, playing on “Friend of the Devil” and “Grace is Gone” in the acoustic set and “#41,” “Spaceman” and “Lie in Our Graves” in the electric set.
