In a new interview with PBS News Hour, Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann admits that he’d like the core four to play more shows, particularly on the East Coast. When asked if the Grateful Dead was really done, Kreutzmann said, “As far as I know,” before adding, “I’d like to have a couple more shows on the East Coast… I’d want to do it for the fans. We’ve had such amazing support from the East Coast from Deadheads and the whole thing called the ‘Grateful Dead Belt’ between Boston and Washington. They deserve concerts like everybody. That’s just my wish.”

The drummer also dished on his new book Deal as well as the end of the shows and a variety of other topics. Among them, Kreutzmann recalls the first time he met Jerry Garcia. “I watched him, and I was totally taken away by him. Amazed,” he said. “The person that got me was Jerry. I said, ‘I’m going to follow him forever.’ I saw magic that you don’t see in everyday people.”
