Warren Haynes has announced a pair of shows with his new Ashes & Dust Band. The new group will find Haynes backed by drummer Jeff Sipe and three-piece string ChessBoxer, which features banjoist Matt Menefee, violinist Ross Holmes and upright bassist Royal Masat. As of now, they are scheduled to join Haynes for a show at The Riviera Theatre in Chicago on September 26 and another gig at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on October 13.

The new project will presumably perform music from Haynes’ forthcoming album Ashes and Dust. As previously reported, that record was recorded with the help of progressive bluegrass outfit Railroad Earth, who will be joining Haynes for a series of dates in support of the album this summer.

Ashes and Dust is set for release on July 24 via Concord Records. Tickets for Haynes’ upcoming dates are available here.
