Saturday at Gathering of the Vibes saw a wide variety of acts take the stage, including Wilco, Billy and the Kids, Warren Haynes and the special Seaside Allstars debut featuring George Porter Jr., Branford Marsalis, Joe Russo, Marco Benevento and Jackie Greene all joining Haynes on stage. As always, there were numerous collaborations throughout the day.

To start, Bill Kreutzmann hit the stage with his band Billy and the Kids, with the group working through a slew of Dead tunes not played during the Fare Thee Well run. Among the guests were Eric Krasno, who sat in on “Dancing in the Streets” and Warrren Haynes, who joined in on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

Kreutzmann then returned the favor later on as he joined Warren Haynes during his set with Railroad Earth on “China Doll.” Other tunes played during that set included Haynes’ Jerry Garcia tribute tune “Patchwork Quilt” as well as “Gold Dust Woman,” the Allmans’ “Blue Sky” and Haynes’ Phil Lesh collaboration, “Spots of Time.”

For a non-traditional Vibes booking, Wilco hit the stage to headline the night. The band once again worked through their entire new record Star Wars in its entirety before moving on to some Wilco classics. For the closing “California Stars,” the band brought out Warren Haynes and drummer Joe Russo.

Haynes then returned to the stage to lead the Seaside Allstars debut. Throughout the lengthy set that included takes on “Sneaking Sally Through the Alley,” Radiohead’s “Karma Police” and “Paranoid Android,” among others, the band also brought out Nigel Hall for “River’s Gonna Rise.” Later on in the set, Eric Krasno appeared to help the band close the show with “Africa” that featured another “Paranoid Android” jam and a “Karma Police” reprise before the closing “Africa Talks to You.”
