Col. Bruce Hampton and The Aquarium Rescue Unit have been back on the road for less than a week and they’ve already dropped at least one big surprise on their fans. The newly reunited group wrapped up their tour-opening run through Colorado with a show Denver’s Ogden Theatre on Saturday, August 1, but not without paying tribute to Jerry Garcia—one of the godfathers of jam scene—with a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Dark Star” to mark his 73rd birthday.

ARU will return to the stage on Wednesday night when they bring their tour east of the Mississippi for a show at Iron City in Birmingham, AL.
